Gites are holiday
accommodation, they used to be just literally somewhere to lay your
head, but nowadays people have become more demanding and they can be
quite luxurious.
Our gites are totally self
contained apartments in what must have been, years ago, the original
farmhouse with outbuildings attached or “longere” as they are called
in France.
We have renovated this to a
very high standard giving comfortable, practical, accommodation.
There are three gites
“La Petite Maison.” Just like a cute little house for two, a one,
double bed roomed apartment with comfortable living area with views
over the land. It is all on one level and is also suitable for
disabled people.
“La Cheminee” is a two bed roomed apartment (one double bedroom the
second with twin beds) again comfortable open plan living area
downstairs, also shower room and WC. Then on the first floor there
are two bedrooms off the galleried landing. The old original
fireplace has been incorporated into the kitchen area of this gite
and there are many original beams, especially upstairs.
“Le Grenier” is a lovely light one galleried bedroom, or” mezzanine”
apartment with a very pleasant mix of old features and up to date
amenities. Including a modern, four poster bed. Couples tend to fall
in love with this one and not want to leave.
We are open all the year round and also do bed and breakfast when
vacancies allow.
We get lots of people who
are looking for a property in France and we offer as much help as we
can about agents, notaires, locations, and life in France in
general.
The area is one of
outstanding natural beauty, lush farmland, forests, rivers and
chateaux. We are situated almost equal distance to three market
towns, Argentan, Gace and Vimoutier. We have a very pleasant village
just 2 kilometres away with a couple of very pleasant
bar/restaurants, a mini supermarket, paper shop and of course
bakery.
We are on the edge of a
beautiful mixed forest which supplies great scope for walkers and
cyclists alike. We are ten minutes from Montormel, site of one of
the last great battles of the war, and the war museum there. An hour
from the beaches and war cemeteries, makes this an ideal touring
centre. |
